Behind the Scenes: Making Tallow Soap

Welcome to my first blog post! This little timelapse gives you a peek behind the scenes as I blend a batch of handmade tallow soap and pour it into molds.

My process starts with preparing a sodium hydroxide and water mixture, then melting coconut oil and tallow on the stove. Once the mixtures are at the right temperature, I combine them in a container with olive oil and essential oils and bring everything together with an immersion blender. Then comes the pour! I love watching a batch come together, and I’m excited to share more of the process with you.

A small batch, from blending to pouring — in about 31 seconds.
